Good news: New Hampshire is making it easier to register as a designated caregiver! Beginning July 24, the state will no longer require a state and federal background check for caregiver applicants. See below for an official announcement from the Department of Health and Human Services’ website:

The state does not charge application or renewal fees for caregivers. If you or somebody you know would like to register as a designated caregiver, the updated application forms are available here.

Over the years, we’ve met countless patients who could benefit from the assistance of a caregiver. Unfortunately, the criminal background check requirement presented an expensive and unnecessary obstacle. We are confident that this change will improve accessibility for many patients!
